“Praise Him with trumpet sound; praise Him with harp and lyre. Praise Him with timbrel and dancing; Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe. Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord.”
The trumpet was “shofar” or ram’s horn. The harp and lyre were portable harps varying in size and number of strings. Timbrel represents a type of tambourine. Pipe refers to a flute instrument. Thus, the psalmist tells us to use all kinds of musical instruments (including voice) to praise God, while the Holy Spirit advocates this Biblical teaching by putting the desire to do so in our hearts.
A Place To Serve:
Come join the instrumentalists and vocalists here at Bellevue as we offer music and ourselves in praise and worship to our Lord Jesus with strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion, and voices.
